Pictures say more than a thousand words...

NapalmAnd it's easyer to start moblogging than blogging. Or is it? We startet this discission yesterday with the people behind 23, who wanted our opinion on the subject and on the future of moblogging.
First of all, it's interesting to find out why most people (including myself) find it difficult to start blogging. Somehow there is a barrier to be broken before feeling comfortable about posting text and pictures on the internet. And there's a is a fine line between what's relevant, though personal, information, and what's too private to be posted. Second of all, it's not very logical that it (in my opinion) is more challenging to post text than pictures, seeing that pictures often are very personal and in a second can set us in a state of mind or bring forth a message which would take hours for an ordinary text to do. Furthermore, I think pictures are more open to individual interpretations than written material - maybe because we've got more or less the same conventions on how to understand a letter, a book or any other written material.
That's my opinion - let me know what you think!

Master's out, colours are in!

Yesterday I gave in my master thesis at MMD at CBS. I've been working on it on and off for four month and then intensely for the past three weeks. And after I gave it in yesterday I just saw Mads and Rasmus' discussion about colours on our moblog. Check it out - there's more to be said in that debate! Why can't you choose any colour you like on your TV, dishwasher, scooter etc.? Comments here or join Mads and Rasmus on the moblog.Large_2

Talking about colours, I promise there's going to be a lot more talk about colours in the next few weeks. Birgitte, Lasse, Inger and myself are working on a great project with OKI. We are ready to show off next week!

New STAGIS.COM launched - running BETA

Beta

It's late and we're in the middle of launching a stagis.com beta version. I posted some of the look-and-feel a couple of weeks ago and said I'd come back with more to hear what you think. But now we decided to go a little further and launch even though it's not finished at all. The design, a bunch of (really cool!) functions and the copy isn't quite done but let's hear what you think and then in a couple of weeks we'll take another round and get it into the next stage... Check out the orange things - that's our moblog integrating with the website.

Launching new products, services and websites (well, anything, actually) in BETA has been much discussed lately as the idea of beta is not only to try things that aren't necesarrily considered finished. It's also a way of involving employees, customers, users, stakeholders - call them what you will - in the development fase and thereby contextualizing a relationship of innovation. I think this was one of the strategies used by Microsoft as they launched Explorer and sent Netscape on a detour...

stagis.com

Does it make any sense at all?

See My Moblog - Blogging Gone Visual and Easy

Stagis_moblog
Moblog means "mobile weblog". During the past couple of months I've been taking pictures of people, situations, odd stuff. Pictures tell stories in different ways than words. And for some people it is easier to show what they are experiencing than to describe it. Check out my moblog on 23: www.23hq.com/stagis. And if you're curious you also might want to see flickr which I also tried out at one point. You might also want to see how far consumer face recognition has gotten at Riya where your pictures are automatically sorted by software that recognize faces.
