Cancer-blog from Kræftens Bekæmpelse well off

Picture_1
Last week we helped Kræftens Bekæmpelse (The Danish Cancer Society) launch their blog "Blog om kræft". It's going well so far. During the first week 13 readers with some connection to this hideous disease chose to comment on Frede Olesens first blog post. And today Frede has been blogging about the coordination of the danish healthcare services which seems to be an issue that many cancer-stricken patients and their relatives are challenging.

I wonder what the members of the organization that haven't been involved in the process of discussing blogging and the organizational effects of the blog are thinking about the blog? One of the objectives of blogging as a manager or team-leader is to set the good example or put focus on critical issues. But how is this seen from the perspective of colleagues in the organization?

You can see the blog here.

Three(!) posts were all that blog could deliver. Could this be the worst blog ever?

Hi KS,

Let me be completely honest and agree with you to the fact that it's not a good blog. I've seen worse (hence not the worst ever, but close!) but that would have been on test-blogs or an experiment to see how it works.

The cancer-blog was initiated by Frede Olesen who was going to blog. As I wrote earlier he had a really good reason for blogging: He wanted his organization to listen more to the stakeholders and he wanted to show this to everyone in Kræftens Bekæmpelse by blogging and get feedback from people who are either cancer-patients or patients' relatives.

I think what happened was that Frede got bussy doing other things and maybe he didn't schedule the amount of time that a good blog takes. Not that I think that's a lot (just two ours a week can do a lot!) - but you have to do it and most importantly keep at it!

Thanks for the comment, KS. I think I'll write a post about the challenge of keeping at it (writing, posting) which is certainly the biggest challenge when it comes to blogging! And you'll probably be happy to see that Kræftens Bekæmpelse are following through and putting the main character on the stand, being the danish cancer patients.

Very very good blog, my gf mother had cancer and i know how someone suffers when they lose someone close and not only that how the person that has cancer goes through it, it makes me sad to even read about cancer, because i wouldnt even want my enemy to have cancer, a very disburting disease that not only kills a person but affects the whole family.
